We're Leaving For Manila

My daughter and I will be leaving for Manila, the capital of the Philippines, this afternoon. It will be the first airplane ride for my two-year old daughter whose excitement is seen vividly in her innocent tiny face. We will be actually accompanying my mother-in-law for her follow-up check in one of the hospitals in Manila – she was diagnosed previously with cancer of the uterus by one of the doctors in our place and later, she had an operation in Manila. We have lots of reasons to be excited in this travel aside from the fact that there will be many ‘firsts’ for my daughter. First, we are hoping and will be keeping our fingers crossed for my mother in law’s full recuperation of her illness. Second, I am thrilled to see the reaction of my daughter when she will see lots of toys and fun rides. Third, since this is travel is a long overdue vacation for me, I am excited to have fun shopping. Thanks to my husband who sponsored this travel. We love you and we will miss you daddy!

Emply Glass Bottles On My Table

I had fun rearranging the furnitures of my modest home this morning. The whole re-arrangement thing all started from watching a show over Lifestyle Network ( I'll be posting more about this in my next article).
While I was cleaning the kitchen area, I saw several empty bottles - coffee, medicine and wine - in our cabinet. At first, I thought of disposing of all those bottles. However, when I was about to throw them away, I remember that I could something on it. I chose the four brown-colored bottles and adorned them with eco-friendly materials like raffia leaves, cogon grass and wood flowers. Oh, great!

Dieting or Just Joking

The thought of burning some excess calories from my somewhat overweight body led me to do some exercise early this morning. My husband wondered why I woke up early when in fact I'm a late riser. When I did some stretching, bending and jogging, my husband wondered why I was having some exercise. He even laughed when I said I would eat bread and fruits for breakfast only for breakfast, and which I actually did. For lunch I eliminated rice - and had spaghetti instead - from my plate hoping to lose some unwanted pounds. Wait, I am still not sure if I would go on with this dieting craziness of mine. Just wait for my next blogs if I could continue dieting.

My Scrapbook

This is the scrapbook I made for my only daughter. It's kinda a photo story of her life. The scrapbook starts from her birth.
This is the page showing her second birthday.

YUMMY YELLOW CORN

I bought these very delicious yellow corn from an elderly woman who came from a remote barrio in our region. I learned from her that it's his husband who plant these hybrid corns while she and her children do the vending. It was the best tasting yellow corn I have ever eaten. So sweet. . . So yummy. . . So yellow.

Jewelry: Every Woman's Bestfriend

If I would be given a chance to splurge on something, without doubt, I would choose to gorge on, no other thing except, beautiful pieces of jewelries. That came to my mind when I chanced upon to visit a jewelry shop yesterday while I was leisurely walking along the busy streets of our city’s downtown area. Beautiful pieces and sets of jewelries were carefully displayed by the shop’s owner and storekeeper. The seemingly pricey jewelry items forced me to conclude that the shop’s inventory will not be lesser than ten million. With that amount in my mind, I wondered why there was only one security guard. It’s none of my damn business anyway.
Jewelries are good form of investment as they appreciate in time. Its monetary value increases as it gets older. In other words, vintage pieces of jewelry become pricey as time goes on. It also becomes a priceless possession when handed down from one generation to another. This reminds me of a friend whose spinster maternal aunt handed down, before she joined the Creator, all her vintage jewelries to her and all her girl cousins. They were all cautioned by their Aunt never to sell those jewelries specially that those jewelries were originally owned by her grandmother. The beautiful jewelry set – earrings, necklace and ring - given to my friend is one of a kind.

Trash To Cash

I was supposed to post this article sometime on the last week of July and failed to do so for had some problems posting pictures or images. Anyway, I'm overwhelmed that I can post pictures again.
This advertisement caught my attention. I appreciated the mall's advocacy on helping to clean and save our environment. Kudos to SM Malls.
My desire to clean up my surroundings is not at all putting all my trash to the waste or garbage can. I make it a point to always observe the so-called "waste segregation" technique. Those that are totally to be thrown end up in the garbage can which are collected every Thursday and those that can be brought to the junkshops are place in a separate container. I once mentioned in this blog that I have made money out of the trash which I collected from my our house - its monetary value may be very minimal but it's out of question. Now I have again made money out of my garbage and I have earned bigger this time. Wow, I'm starting to make a piggy bank for all my trash earnings and count it at the end of the year.

08-08-08 A LUCKY DAY FOR ME

I got pretty busy on the most-awaited day of the year, August 8, 2008. Though I was busy, I never failed to watch the amazing grand opening of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. A phone call from a friend woke me up early that day. She ordered from me 150 pieces of wedding souvenirs - a swan made of light weight wood, which she will give as wedding gift for her bestfriend who will be married on the 10th of October this year. By the way, I make wedding souvenirs which I sell at a very reasonable price. (I am experiencing some problems in uploading my photos on this site, I hope to upload the samples of my work in my future posts. T.Y.) At 9:00 o'clock in the morning my daughter and I were at the school for the acquaintance party. She, together with her classmates, presented an action song which entertained everyone present in the said party. It was her - and I guess, also with her classmates- first public performance. After the party, I got a text message from a client who informed me that she will be ordering another 100 pieces hanging lamps. She previously ordered 50 pieces which, according to her, was sold in a matter of week. She told me that she was to deposit on that day the 75% downpayment for the 100 pieces hanging lamps which she will be buying from me. I was very happy and lucky that day.

EARN UP TO $1,000 IN PAYPAL

Sign up for PayPal and start accepting credit card payments instantly. The longer time I spend in the internet, the more that I get know many blogging sites – those that pay and don’t pay, PTC sites, and many other online money making ideas. One has to have a Paypal account in order to get paid once he registers in those money making sites. Little did I know that Paypal is in itself a good revenue site. Here’s how to earn as much as $1,000 in Paypal. 1. Create a Merchant Account with Paypal 2. If you already have an account with Paypal, log in to your account, and then click the Referrals link at the bottom of the page. 3. Send an email with a personalized referral link or add a referral logo to your website. 4. When the merchant you refer signs up for a Business or Premier PayPal account, you become qualified to get a Merchant Referral Bonus. The bonus amount is a percentage of the funds received by your referral using PayPal's Website Payments or Send Money features. 5. You will receive an initial monthly bonus, equivalent to 0.5% of the new merchant's net sales, as soon as that merchant reaches $200.00 USD in sales. Every 30 days for the next 12 months, you will receive a bonus of 0.5% of the new merchant's monthly net sales. The maximum total bonus you can receive is $1,000.00 USD. 6. You are eligible to receive Merchant Referral Bonus payouts for the first 12 months of the referred merchant's account, or until the payouts reach a total of $1,000.00 USD, whichever occurs first. This is another exciting money making strategy which doesn’t need so much effort before one starts earning.

Just Petroleum Jelly For My Body

When we use lip balms regularly, our lips will become moist and it will be prevented from being chapped. Our lips when dry and chapped are like sandpapers and it will be best to use lip balms, any lip balm for that matter, in order to replace or add to the normal, moisture-retaining barrier of the lips. Different brands of lotions all contain basic ingredients of water and oil, although they differ as to the kind of oil used - some use virgin coconut oil, olive oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, to name a few – and it is for the sole purpose of making a commercial appeal to potential buyers and users. And to make it more viable in the market, different fragrances are added, more likely to please the sense of smell are fruit and flower scents – like vanilla, strawberry, peach, apple, rose, orchid, sunflower, magnolia and so many more - and more appealing colors are additional come-ons to make one grab a particular brand of lotion. Although I have use several different brands and types of lotions, still, I prefer to use petroleum jelly even though a lot of women do not like to use it for they feel it very greasy on their skins. I can live without lotion and lip balm but I cannot live without petroleum jelly. Petroleum jelly is my first line of defense against cracked, chapped and dry lips, my skin moisturizer, wonder balm to insect bites, night cream, wrinkle cream, and conditioner to my dry hair. I have been using this petroleum jelly for more than two decades now and I am the first to attest that it best to use petroleum jelly for your body.
